Birthdaze
It's a little known fact that all four members of my family have birthdays that occur on the same day of the week every year. This year all of our birthdays are on Saturday which is sweet! Somehow, birthdays on Tuesday are never as good. Unless it's the first one I suppose, in which case, the day of the week is not the most pressing thing on anyone's mind. I have always loved having my birthday in June. While I can't say I married Dave because he was born in July, I definitely approved of his birth month. And, well, let's just say, it was no accident that my children were born in July and May. But all of this means, that I have had birthdays on the brain nonstop since March!?! D kicked off the season which his annual cinco de dillo fest. This month, I had the privilege of celebrating another glorious year with my family at the beach. We were joined at the beach with two other families and it was perfect. Camping in yurts was absolutely the right way to camp with two young ones that at times need some containment. We played in the sand water, ate yummy food, and devoured Dave's special Lemon cupcakes. Here are some pictures:
Mizz's and Dave's birthday are right around the corner. I can't wait! Mizz requested a Star Wars death star cake, but my mommy sensibilities can't quite wrap my head around that so we going to go for a R2-D2 cake instead. Dave might have a few surprises in store for him as well.

I have a ball-shaped cake pan you can borrow. I bought it to make a ball and chain cake for a bachelorette party. FYI - black icing is a really bad idea. But the ball might make a decent death star.
What am I saying? I didn't know I'd be a mom who makes themed cakes but when Lucy wanted the Grinch, how could I say no.
Motherhood = Insanity
