Uh-oh!

Both of my boys are improving their A game (which is code for trying to drive Mama insane).   They are getting faster and stronger and are basically scaling new heights to basically confirm my worst fears about having two boys.  In the last two days, Mizz has discovered the joy of sending things flying down the stair.  A rod from the closet made it's way down this afternoon.  While I admit it is fun to watch things fly down stairs, at 3 and a half, Mizz isn't yet the best judge of what is and what isn't fair game.   D knows exactly where he is not supposed to be and watches like a hawk for an opening.   He is ridiculosly fast for such a little guy.  The best part is his sheer indignation when I scoop him up with an unh-uh-ah!  At the park this afternoon, I got a taste of what the summer is going to be like, lots of prying woodchips out of my mouth and yelling across the park to Mizz to "Be Nice", because that always works.

The other side

I almost feel guilty writing this, as I don't really want to add to all the hype about the recent octuplet birth, but I feel like this article presents a few points most people haven't considered. While I personally can't imagine taking care of three kids, let alone six or ten or fourteen, I also realize that it really isn't my place to judge her decision about the family she wants. It seems to me parents make all kinds of questionable decisions everyday regardless of how many kids they have, how much money is in their bank account, or what their marital status is. So, you don't have to support "Octomom", or even agree with her, but consider her children and stop watching so much reality tv.

Spring!

Well, it is almost spring. It's spring enough complete with daffodils, warmer weather, hail storms, and lots of rainbows. I love spring! Fall foliage is nice, but longer days and warmer weather mean way more outdoor time, which ultimately translates into less squirmishes with Mizz, since we are both happier outside.

Check out my very own little angry bunny. This isn't his best bunny face, but I thought it was cute.

Sigh.

Mizz Quote of the Day

"This broccoli is crunchy...Whoever made the broccoli just made it that way."

Mizz is trying to drive me insane by asking why about everything. Why is that trash can there? Why does red mean stop? Anytime I ask him to do anything elicits a why? Most of my responses take some form of: "they are for decoration" (in response to why boys have nipples), "I don't know" and "because it is made that way".

Mizz is continuing to put lots of concepts together. Just yesterday he told me that static must be even smaller than germs. I suppose he lumped them together as things he hears about but can't see.

He is pretty gung ho these days about listening to books on tape and putting together a junk robot at school.

He melted my achy breaky heart yesterday by singing the Yellow Submarine and All Together to D. It doesn't get better than that...a three year little boy singing the Beatles to his almost 10 month old brother. So sweet.

Fat Lip

D Money has a fat lip to go with his tounge wound. Apparently those five teeth are creating some serious ruckus. Well, that and the fact that he is one busy, wobbly little guy.

We went to the Children's Museum yesterday. It was very fun...we haven't been there in a really long time. It was newly renovated and as an older kid now, Mizz was able to really get involved with a lot of it. I got a lot of mom time to catch up with my playgroup moms, even though I also had to keep an eye on a crawling D.

Today we are going to enjoy the sunny weather at the park and then get Mizz a hair cut this afternoon.
